The DeForest Public Safety Committee serves as an advisory body to the Village Board, providing recommendations on law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. Its duties include evaluating public safety issues, developing long-range plans, acting as a liaison with other agencies and the public, and assisting with emergency government services. The committee also has an educational role and helps develop comprehensive safety programs for village functions and personnel.

  • Advises the Village Board: Makes recommendations on policy and strategic plans for law enforcement and fire/EMS services.

  • Evaluates issues: Assesses public safety matters, including law enforcement operations, licensing, ordinances, and public health.

  • Liaises with the public and other agencies: Serves as a connection with government agencies, community groups, school districts, and the general public.
